New Ravage Rules - READ

A new ruleset has been posted on the new Rules page.

Major changes:

- ALL pornography is now BANNED. This includes sharing and viewing of it. This comes after an incident at the previous LAN. Sorry for people who do like to share that stuff, but it is too much of a risk.
- The rules of touching other peoples computers has changed. We will take action if they make a complaint to an Admin. The action will differ depending on the severity and that'll be explained below.

For example, if someone's wallpaper gets changed or something harmless that can be easily solved we will just ask the person who did it to stop doing it. However, if peoples computers are severely damaged such as the formatting of someones hard drive or deleting any files, we will give strikes or possibly even ejection from the venue or banning from future Ravage events. Just use some common sense really, if you wouldn't want it done to you, don't do it.

I should also mention touching peoples physical HARDWARE like opening the case and tampering with components is just a simple "don't do it" unless they give you permission.

Also, LOCK YOUR COMPUTERS if you leave your seat and do not want this to happen.

That's not the only issue David that happened. It wasn't JUST because of you. In the last couple of Ravages we have seen more "kids" there than ever before, so we must protect them from this content.

yep i agree with this and i know it wasnt just me but i do feel partly responsible, and pissed cause i couldnt change it.

but for those who do go to get it can we form a list of who has what then jus leech with hardrives so as to stop the underages getting it

i dont know which lan it was, but i left my pc unlocked and while i wasn't around someone leeched porn onto my pc, i discovered it when i got home

A good barometer is anything your happy showing your parents ;-) If we actually had an R rating I think those games probably shouldn't be played. L4D2 is a bit of a grey area since the banning was a bit of a joke.

Worthless has also indicated that Viewing pornography at the event will also not be tolerated. I don't know what kind of person comes to a lan to watch porn anyway. I thought the idea was to play multiplayer games and porn is pretty much a single player experience.

Let's draw a solid line though. Pornography and sex scenes in a regular movie are not the same thing. So, movies such as Sex Drive and Zack & Miri Make A Porno are not classed as pornography and we will not take any action on them. However, the TV series named Porno Valley I definitely would consider to be pornography. Use some common sense basically, if it would play at the cinemas, you can share it.
