Before the weekend of September 10 -> 12 would be great as I am overseas from that weekend onwards for 3 weeks. No problem with having a LAN while I am away I just want one before I do go away so I can be loaded with movies for the 20 hour plane flight =D

I would suggest that the website is made 100% Safari friendly :)

It does really weird and wonderful things when i am on the IPAD - aaaaarrrrrggggghhhh.

Also.. 9 people registered who didn't show.. don't register if your not going to show.. it makes it hard for us to organize tables and stuff.
And seeing as its hard to get tables atm.. once 40 people have walked through the door and set up, no one else is allowed to come in, cos we will be getting tables for literally 40 people.

Also......One computer/laptop per person.

So technically speaking merv could be rejected for his own birthday lan if 40 randys show up before him?

how do we reserve the seats

Landrush is on the 8th September at 9PM, where everyone will be able to register a seat at the same time. It's a pretty big advance warning plus everyone will be finished work and home by that time so it's fair for everyone. We are allowing for EXACTLY 40 seats only. So we (I say we, but I mean the other Admins as I won't be attending) will not budge the user count any further. We may have a solution for the space issues, but I wouldn't get your hopes up until we have a definite answer.

It says no walk in's allowed so I'd assume you wont be allowed in without registering.

Not the best solution because it means empty seats when people leave or come late but its the fairest for those who bother to register as long as they still turn up.

I've got a feeling 40 slots will fill fairly quickly at this rate :P
p.s. Kayne and BT need to pay full fee of $15 on entry. that is all.

The only problem with that is the last lan 9 people who registered didn't show

The max slots has been increased to 41 as I need to be registered to maintain the seat booking system, but am not coming so will revert and dereg before I leave. There is still a max a 40 people, I don't count =]

on the subject of seat booking and this has prob been seed somwear but wtf are gopher seats???

Gophers are people who do a lot for the lan who arnt actually admins...ie dalek who runs dhcp which without makes lans 100x harder

41 slots because I am booked (for seat booking admin purposes) but not coming. So if there are 41 people booked 40 people are actually going, theoretically of course.

Wombat and myself left early friday night due to,

1. wombats PC not playing ball.
2. being crazy sick
3. Power issues.

Fixed the PC when I felt better in 20mins but having it play up at the lan sucks. Would have stayed but when the power started to be an issue it was the end of it for us.

ThirtySix45 and Wombat, just to let you guys know that there usually is help available for PC issues during the Ravage Events, all you need to do is ask anyone else there and they will point you in the right direction.

Most times that will be in my direction since i fortunately/unfortunately am the long standing Tech :)

The power issues last time was unfortunately to do with the setup and once sorted out it was basically the last we seen of it, this is the first time in the last 5 LANS that it has been this way.

I apologize for the issues you had and hope next time you point yourself in the direction of the "Filing Cabinet" which is a little hard to miss and ask for some help.

We have all had issues with computers at LANs. It happens. Just ask me what happens when you try and partition during a LAN xD

and also when nvidiot is on same circut theres problems as was proved at last rav :P and then mwe fixed it by putting him on diff circut :P XD

i reckon it wasn't solely nvideots cause, it just had too much on it overall.
seriously unless nvideot is running 21 super servers in that smallish space i doubt it.
